After Twenty Years Of Been On Our Screen Generations Mzanzi’s Longest Running Soapie Came To End, As They Aired Their Last Episode On The 30th Of September 2014. To Some It Might Be The End And To Others It Might Be The Start Of New Beginnings.
It all started a few months back when 16 Actors/Actress decided to stop production and go on a strike to voice their opinions for a better salary. Mfundi Vundla, CEO and Founder of Generations wasn’t to pleased and decided to terminate their contracts. After much so called “Negotiations” Actors refused to return to work unless they got an increase. With all this going on production could not go on, causing major upsets and basically coming to an agreement that the current season will end and Generations will go through a major transformation.

Katlego Danke (Dineo)
Mandla Gaduka (Choppa)
Menzi Ngubane (Sibusiso)
Nambitha Mpulwana (Mawande)
Patrick Shai (Patrick)
Slindile Nodangala (Ruby)
Sophie Ndaba (Queen)
Seputla Sebogodi (Kenneth)
Thami Mnqolo (Senzo)
Thato Molamu (Nicholas)
Winnie Ntshaba (Khetiwe)
Zenande Mfenyana (Nolunthu)
Zikhona Sodlaka (Priska)
Zolisa Xaluva (Jason). It was stated that they don’t want Salaries of American Standards but a salary that when they go home, its enough to cater for all their needs.
On an exclusive interview with Expresso On SABC3, Mr Vundla stated that he doesn’t seem that he will work with most of the fired actors and he also does see a working relationship with the others. He also said that “Generations is going through a major new direction with new cast members ranging from mid to 20’s To Early 30’s. He also stated that newer and better storylines will be introduced and he wants to bring in some of the older cast members that began their journey on Generations many years ago. Mr Vundla said “I know that we going to lose a lot of viewers but we hope to win their hearts back”. He also went on to tell that the first 5 Episodes of the New Generations is going to be action packed that will leave the nation on their feet!
Many viewers were not happy and didn’t take Generations Ending lightly stating that the old cast members are irreplaceable, while some stated that its time for a change.

HOW IT WORKS

Every week the judges will pick the 10 best videos and share them with the fans.
Fans will then be asked to vote for their favourite.
The two videos with the most votes will go through to the finals.
The finalists will be asked to audition at Generations Joburg studios on 19 November.
The in-studio auditions will be placed online and the fans will start voting for their favourite.
The person with the most votes walks away the winner and will join the Generations cast.
